The heart of Rock ‘n Roll

The heart of Rock ‘n Roll is in Cleveland, as the song by Huey Lewis and the News goes, and one of the best ways of visiting Cleveland is with a charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coaches or school bus hired from Bus Charter Ohio. A good way to see the city of Cleveland in style and comfort, Bus Charter Ohio provides vehicles to suit any size group or party, for any occasion.
Located on the shore of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a museum recording the history of rock music, through recognizing some of the most influential artists, producers, writers and engineers who have molded and shaped rock music through the years. Created in 1983, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was looking for a permanent location before settling on Cleveland, Ohio. This partly due to lobbying from the city of Cleveland, citing the influence that disc jockey Alan Freed had on exposing rock music to the masses, as well as creating the term “Rock and Roll”. Cleveland was also the site of the nation’s first rock and roll concert in 1952.
To visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, take your charter bus to Rock and Roll Boulevard at North Coast Harbor. As you arrive, you will be impressed by the I.M. Pei designed building that house the Hall of Fame. This seven storey building features a tower with a glass pyramid that covers over 150,000 square feet. Construction began in 1993, and the Hall of Fame opened its doors to the public in 1995.
Five storeys of the museum are given over to permanent and temporary exhibits covering much of rock and roll’s development and history over the past 6 decades. One of the key exhibits in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a list of 660 “Songs that shaped Rock and Roll”. Not organized in any particular order, the list includes songs recorded from the 1920s through to the 1990s. All the famous artists from every era of Rock and Roll has representation, notably The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley and The Beach Boys, along with Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder and Chuck Berry.
Inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are the reason why many visit. Visitors can take a tour of the past inductees into the Hall of Fame, showing highlights of their careers, their discography and display of memorabilia. Films are also shown in the museum, notably of famous concerts or performances, or documentaries about rock and roll history. There is also a Library and Archives, which is open to the public and researchers. This unparalleled collection of personal papers, photographs, posters, records and recordings, videos and song sheets is worth a visit from any rock and roll fan.
Visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is easy with a charter bus from Bus Charter Ohio, so give us a call today to find out how we can help you with our fleet of vehicles and friendly, personalized service.

Ohio State Reformatory

'Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free' – this was the empowering and uplifting one-liner used by scriptwriters of the award-winning show, Shawshank Redemption when it was filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory in 1994. The two-hundred and fifty square feet reformatory was first built and opened on November 4, 2886 and once housed nearly one hundred and fifty five thousand men. The steel cell blocks were used to help refine the lives of delinquent individuals and to free people from their sinful lifestyles. That was, honestly, the single one purpose of this magnificent structure and tourist attraction. If you are new in Ohio, you ought to consider renting a charter bus for a group tour of this amazing Chateauesque place which was designed by renowned architect and inspiring building designer, Levi T. Scofield who lifted the styles from Victorian Gothic, Richardson Romanesque and Queen Anne and put it all into one building.
Funnily enough, because of many rumors going around on the rumor mill for ages, people come here seeking thrill. They are looking for paranormal activities and even do their own investigative walks and tours around the structure. It gives off a very Gothic and old 'Alcatraz' kind of feel and of course, there are others who are true fans of Shawshank Redemption film that came here just to see the place where some of the scenes were shot. That was really the fun part. Fans even had fun checking out sites outside the reformatory for where the outdoor scenes were shot.
Suffice to say, charter bus tour visitors should try to make a visit during a day when there is plenty of sunshine because the lighting in the building isn't very good so, plenty of sunshine coming in would mean that there are more things that you can see. Enjoy the descriptions and explanations that the tour guide gives you as he or she points out the different places and specific events.
For group gatherings, we hope that your trip can be further enhanced with reliable charter bus Ohio rental services because going in and out of the place together would simply mean there are fewer things to worry about during the trip.
